Day 3 (Zimbabwe Victoria Falls)

7/2/22 -  Heading to airport to fly into Livenstone airport on our way to Zimbabwe, home of Victoria Falls.  On our way had to make a quick stop at a famous city in Africa.  It's known for Eiffel Towers, Dodger Dogs, Scotch Mallows, UCD, UW, and UT Swag, Maj Sets, Candle Sticks, Jeff Sex Toys (and banks), and everything Family and Friends 1st.  Welcome to.....

It took a little longer than we thought to visit Wendywood.  So we had to rush in the airport to check all of our bags.  This guy had to check in his penis.

We fly into Livinstone airport - 2 hour flight.  Had to buy a Visa for $50 per person to enter the country of Zambia.  Seemed like an easy opportunity to make money.  They must have learned how to make money at the country's most famous museum.

Jews are allowed to make jewish jokes.

I learned we are going from Zambia to Zimbabwe so we had to go through customs in two different countries on our way to Victoria Falls.  Blog Fact: Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa known for its dramatic landscape and diverse wildlife, much of it within parks, reserves and safari areas. On the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls make a thundering 108m drop into narrow Batoka Gorge, where there’s white-water rafting and bungee-jumping. Downstream are Matusadona and Mana Pools national parks, home to hippos, rhinos and birdlife.

On our drive to Zimbabwe (about 30 to 45 minutes).  We had a pleasant surprise...

Elephants (4)

Literally,  out the window of our car.  This was no Nordhoff and Devonshire.  Peanuts?  If I could talk to the animals, talk to the animals...  Went through customs in Zambia and met some other friends.

Chimp Chump (5)

Rob scared them off and they decided to go "truck hoping."  I didn't know this was a chimp thing?

Rob captured the moment.  Really an unbelievable shot.  Right?  Look closely.  Baby's hanging on for dear life.  Momma's got hops.  WOW!!!!

After going through customs at Zimbabwe boarder and spending $50 on fake bracelets, we arrived at the Victoria Falls Hotel.  It is a majestic, historic hotel built in 1904 by the British.  Wi-fi is spotty.

Once we got to the hotel, Amy had arranged for us a traditional African welcome.

Thanks Fame!  AfriCAN!

Amy then planned for us to take a boat along the Zambezi River.  Once we got on the boat you can see everyone say to themselves, "This is going to be AMAZING" Our guides were awesome.  The mate was a mighty sailor man, the Skipper brave and sure...

His name is Innocent.  Not so much.

12 passengers set sail that day for a 2 hour tour... A 2 hour tour.  The ship set off on the river my friends to this uncharted river wild... with the Pearls, the Taubs too, the Broudy's with Beth and Rob.. uh you get it.  Also, met some friends from Philly and a nice Marine couple.  He's a preacher.  Feeling safe.

Crocodaile (6)

Fucker was scary looking.  Just sitting there waiting for a fight.  Needs a dentist.  One the rules was please don't feed the animals.  SECOND: Not HIPAA.   You want another peanut little fella?

HIPPO (7)

The schools of HIPPO's were incredible.  I think Brad or Amy gets credit for this shot.  WOW!  I'm feeling safari, and craving some crocodile for dinner.  Yes we did.
