Goodbye Africa

7/13/22 - It's time to say goodbye.  We are checking out today.

All I need is this hat, and this speaker, and this coffee machine....

After we checked out we decided to pay tribute by visiting the Genocide Museum.  In summary, it sucked.  Ethnic cleansing of one race that started in the late 50's and then escalated unbelievably in 1994 by killing over 1,000,000 people in 100 days.  The silver lining is the country has rebounded an a huge way over the last 28 years

RIP

Our last stop was an art gallery/restaurant.  Our host was another Emanuel.

Restaurant Choose Kigali

Hoop Lights.  Very Creative.

We had a great dinner outside and then starting our trekk home.

I have a lot of feelings spiraling around.  In no particular order, I have learned a lot this trip.....

1.  People can come together.  Heart 1st.

2.  Cherish what you have.  Many have less.

3.  One life.  Make the most of it.  Go deeper.  Push boundaries.

4.  Family and friends are everything.

5.  Foreign Indian feast is a crap shoot.  No pun intended.

And to my traveling companions:

FIANCES:  Bethie, your genuine emotion to the moment was inspirational.  I need to show more emotion and just let it happen.  Also, we both love cheese.  You say cheese always Bethie.  Rob, you are our Silverback.  you lead, you make laughter, you rock!  You made this trip so fun for all of us.  I love that your behavior never ages.  Something for all of us...

TAUBS:  Lisa, your laugh is infectious.  I learned our pallets don't match, but our spice for life does.  As our infant of the tribe, your playful attitude made everyday fun.  Josh, it's everybody before you.  You live to give and the way you think for the tribe, ahead of the tribe, is inspiring.

PEARLS: B-rad, didn't know after 28 years of knowing you that we can continue to take the bro in law bond to new levels.  You taught us to continue to push the boundaries of deep relationships.  It's all we got. Fame, no words can thank you enough for bringing this trip all together.  We made memories of a lifetime because of you.  Much love and tremendous gratitude for your inspiration, generosity, and family 1st mindset.  You knocked it out of the park.  A grand slam with a nachos helmet.

SUNSHINE:  Hope you had a Happy Birthday!  This one will be remembered forever.  I know I joked.... and thanked you for if we had never met,  I would have never met Amy to plan this trip.  It was so amazing sharing these experiences with you.  I love you and look forward to every day, night, and year.  Let's continue to make memories like these forever and ever.  I love you.

Family and friends are everything...

Bye Bye Africa.  You will be missed and remembered...
